A masked figure staged a guerrilla crypto marketing stunt on the Hollywood sign, promoting "Vigilante Token." The token pumped 63,140%, then crashed 99.5%. Legal consequences likel
Someone just took crypto marketing to a whole new level.
Saturday afternoon, LA's finest got a call about a masked figure on the Hollywood sign that wasn’t there for your average tourist photo op – they were pulling off a full-on crypto guerrilla marketing campaign.
The culprit was some absolute madlad waving a "Vigilante Token" flag from one of the most famous landmarks in the world.
Our mystery crypto bro came prepared with dark clothes, a camo vest, and, of course, a ski mask.
They even teased it on X the day before, promising the "most viral" token launch ever.
We have to give them some points for commitment to the bit… even if it constitutes a crime.
The park rangers tried playing nice, asking them to come down, but that failed to convince the masked degen to abandon their plans.
Why listen to the literal police when you have a bag to pump? Said nobody who cared about their criminal record.
By 4 PM, LAPD showed up to end the party, and as it turns out, the police aren't big fans of turning national landmarks into crypto billboards.
Here's the really wild part – the stunt actually worked, and Vigilante Token pumped a whopping 63,140%.
It hit a market cap of $5.5 million faster than you can say "FOMO” and then… promptly crashed 99.5%, because that’s what these sorts of things do.
In the attention economy, it’s all about keeping the attention, not just pulling off a one-trick pony story that will get buried in other news within the first 12 hours.
So, while we all laugh about this and carry on with our lives, the masked degen will likely be facing charges that will follow them for the next decade or more.
Let’s hope the gains were worth it – hard to hit “sell” from a prison cell.
They don’t seem to care, though – the Vigilante crew is already bragging about their next move, promising something "10 times bigger."
Maybe they're eyeing the Statue of Liberty next?
The takeaway here is that the whole crypto marketing game is getting out of hand.
Pump.fun had to kill their livestream because people were literally risking their lives for token pumps.
When did "going viral" start to mean “break the law to get some eyeballs” or worse, "potentially going to the morgue"?
LA got its first taste of extreme crypto marketing, and the LAPD got a story for their group chat.
And somewhere, a masked degen is probably planning their next stunt from a jail cell.
Just remember: no pump is worth becoming a pancake on Hollywood Boulevard.
