John McAfee's legacy just got a wild, AI-infused update.

His wife Janice launched AIntivirus ($AINTI), a meme coin claiming to be "John McAfee AI incarnate."

But between pre-launch wallet moves and thin liquidity, this resurrection is raising eyebrows.

The Ghost in the Machine

Janice McAfee fired up John's old Twitter account (1.2M followers) with a bold claim: "I'm back with AIntivirus. An AI version of myself. You didn't think I would miss this cycle did you?"

The project's promising an AI that thinks like McAfee – though crypto veterans say it's missing his signature spark.

The AI chatbot seems to be trying to mimic McAfee's controversial style, but like most imitations, it's missing the real thing's unpredictable genius.

The real McAfee was known for wild predictions and even wilder behavior, but so far this AI version feels more like a corporate chatbot wearing a McAfee mask.

Degens Ape In Anyway

That didn’t stop your average degen from securing a bag, though.

January 6 saw 100 million $AINTI tokens minted, but only 2.6 million (about $1M worth) made it to trading pools on Meteora and Raydium.

TechLead spotted the concerning fact that 98.4% of tokens are still sitting in insider wallets.

The lack of transparency around these holdings is a giant red flag for any meme coin.

When most tokens are controlled by a few wallets, price manipulation is more than just a possibility – based on history, it’s probable.

Janice claims "creative control" over this new chapter in McAfee's story, claiming she’s aiming to blend John's passion for tech freedom with AI and the new meme coin scene.

But the meme coin community is now more seasoned and hardened – they’ve seen enough pre-launches to know when something feels wrong.

McAfee's name still carries heavy weight in crypto circles – after all, he was one of the first major tech figures to embrace Bitcoin, famously predicting it would hit $1 million (though his timeline proved... optimistic).

Using his legacy to launch a token is powerful marketing, and perhaps not a bad move by his widow.

On-Chain Cocaine vs Pending McGaff

Using a dead man's massive following to push a project with questionable tokenomics could be seen as bad taste, depending on who you ask.

But what makes it more odd is the lack of any seeming coordination and the shady concentration of assets.

There’s no clear distribution plan, pre-launch wallet shuffling is happening rapidly, and the token has comparatively thin liquidity – it's hitting all the classic warning signs of a rug, or at best a poorly managed project.

The timing is a big off, too. With meme coins pumping and AI tokens trending, AIntivirus is riding two hype waves at once in an effort to cash in.

Add McAfee's name, and you've got a perfect storm of crypto marketing, regardless of the motives of liquidity books.

What Would McAfee Do?

McAfee was crypto's original wild card – a tech visionary turned crypto prophet.

Now his name is being used to sell an AI meme coin. Oh irony, how you adore Web3.

The real McAfee would probably have something colorful to say about using his identity this way. Maybe something good, maybe something profane.

His legacy is already complicated enough. Tech pioneer, presidential candidate, fugitive, and crypto evangelist.

Now we can add "AI meme coin inspiration" to the list.

Crypto has changed a lot since McAfee's day, but some things stay the same: when there's hype to be had, someone will capitalize on it.

We just wish John was still here to do it himself.
