Nvidia ditches Arbitrum AI partnership, demands no crypto visibility—Arbitrum walks away unscathed

Nvidia Just Ghosted Arbitrum For Interesting Reasons
Web3 insights in your social media feed

Arbitrum was about to become Nvidia's exclusive Ethereum partner for their AI accelerator program, but then Nvidia pulled the classic "it's not you, it's me" at the last minute.

The GPU giant demanded that their name be scrubbed from any crypto-related announcements, and Arbitrum said "no" and walked away from the whole thing.

Something unfolded behind the scenes, and social media, as always, is abuzz with speculation about what might have caused this sudden and stark rift.

The Deal That Wasn't

Arbitrum was supposed to be the chosen one for Nvidia's Ignition AI Accelerator, getting access to all that sweet infrastructure and mentorship.

Instead, Nvidia decided it still wants nothing to do with crypto – a shocker to absolutely no one who remembers Jensen Huang's "crypto hangover" comments from 2018.

The Arbitrum Foundation wasn't about to play shadow partner, so they bounced rather than proceed under Nvidia's no-crypto policy.

Why Nvidia Still Hates Us

Nvidia has been wary of crypto since being burned during the 2018 ICO boom, when they ended up with warehouses full of GPUs nobody wanted.

They even caught a $5.5 million fine for not disclosing how much of their revenue came from crypto mining.

CTO Michael Kagan straight up said, "Crypto doesn't bring anything useful to society," while they push AI as if it's the second coming.

Talk about a divergent opinion on sectors of emerging technology.

ARB Price Barely Flinched

You'd think getting ghosted by Nvidia would tank ARB's price, but the token is shrugging it off.

Trading around $0.34, ARB is only down about 2% on the news, likely because nobody expected Nvidia to suddenly love crypto anyway.

The token's still holding above recent lows, and technical indicators suggest it could bounce between $0.30 and $0.35 this month.

What's Next For Arbitrum

Arbitrum is essentially saying they'll find partners who genuinely appreciate blockchain, rather than treating it as a weird thing that might add value but could be dropped like a hot potato at any moment.

Meanwhile, competitors like Aptos are still cooperating with Nvidia's programs, which is either a smart move or just desperate, depending on who you ask.

The Foundation made it clear that they want genuine partnerships, not PR stunts with companies that dislike their industry.

All things considered, this long-term thinking is something that the entire industry could embrace more wholeheartedly.

Arbitrum’s Next Chapter

This drama highlights the weird relationship between AI and crypto – everyone knows they should work together, but the establishment players are still too scared of regulatory heat.

Nvidia continues to discuss AI's potential while treating blockchain like it's radioactive, even as the tech overlap becomes increasingly impossible to ignore.

For now, crypto projects will have to find other dance partners while Nvidia sits this one out.
