China has come out of nowhere with a new AI model that has OpenAI and friends in complete disarray.

DeepSeek is the latest AI model in the mix, and it matches U.S. tech for pennies on the dollar.

They built ChatGPT-level tech for $6 million instead of the $100 million that Western companies quote.

AI just changed forever, and crypto was among the first to take now.

Crypto Gets Hit Hard

AI tokens got hammered. NEAR, ICP, RENDER, FIL – all down 8-10%.

The AI crypto market shed 7.66%, dropping under $44 billion.

Turns out cheap AI isn't great for expensive AI tokens, and with the cost of access dropping, it becomes harder to hide behind the barrier to entry.

DeepSeek also isn’t just cheaper, but also smarter about how it was built.

They’re using basic chips but squeezing way more performance out of them.

While U.S. companies burn cash on fancy hardware that defies the laws of physics, DeepSeek just proved that you don't need a money printer to compete.

Sometimes, back to basics is the way to go.

Wall Street Immediately Freaks Out

The implications of this go far beyond crypto.

Nasdaq lost its mind, with futures dropping 2%.

Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Broadcom all went beet red.

Arthur Hayes, BitMEX's ex-chief, says this could shake faith in U.S. tech dominance.

China beating Silicon Valley at its own game could well become the story of the decade.

Silicon Valley Sobbing

Meta also isn’t sleeping on the news and now has emergency teams working overtime.

They have to – DeepSeek is doing the same work for 17 to 27 times less money.

That's less “new competition” and more “fundamental disruption of the status quo.”

Fresh off his win, Trump is also keeping his eye on AI.

With Chinese tech threatening U.S. dominance right as he takes office, we can expect some fireworks between Red China and Orange President.

Business and geopolitics just became good bedfellows.

Artificially Intelligent or Future Guru?

Market guru Daniele sees opportunity in chaos and is buying the dip.

When tech gets cheaper, adoption tends to soar, and  DeepSeek might hurt expensive AI stocks today, but they're making tomorrow's AI boom possible.

The hard math shows DeepSeek crushing benchmarks like AIME and MATH-500.

They're catching up to ChatGPT in coding, but more importantly, they’re proving that American tech's secret sauce might just be having more money to burn.

One Chinese startup beating the odds might have just kicked off the tidal wave that spells the end of Silicon Valley's monopoly on innovation.

When AI gets this cheap, the question becomes who will survive the coming price war.
