US Bitcoin ETF Inflows Slow Sharply as October Begins

Weekly flow data show a quieter pace of Bitcoin fund buying and renewed outflows from Ether products.
US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds recorded approximately $82.9 million in net inflows in the week ending October 2, according to Zerocap’s October 5 market review. That compares with about $2.39 billion in the previous week.
US spot Ether funds recorded around $118 million in net outflows over the latest period. The figures describe specific US products and should not be confused with global digital-asset investment-product totals.
A positive Bitcoin total means subscriptions exceeded redemptions across the measured funds. It does not mean demand was as strong as in the preceding week. The change in pace is the central feature of the comparison.
Flows are also different from trading volume. Fund shares can change hands repeatedly without creating an equivalent net purchase of underlying assets.
Short reporting periods can be affected by a small number of large transactions. Investors may also adjust allocations around quarter-end, making consecutive weekly totals unusually different.
A clearer trend requires observing whether the change persists and whether it appears across multiple products rather than just one fund.
The next releases will help show whether early October represents a temporary pause or a broader cooling in demand. ETF flows remain one useful measure of participation, but they need to be read alongside price, liquidity and activity outside the US fund market.
