The community is still waiting for the actual event, but the price is acting like it already happened.
Ten months after raising $700K to put a dog with a hat on the world's biggest screen, Dogwifhat (WIF) pumped 30% on fresh Vegas Sphere rumors.
But where's the hat?
The community is still waiting for the actual event, but the price is acting like it already happened.
Tuesday night got wild when WIF's official X account dropped "Viva hat Vegas" with their mascot wearing the Sphere.
They quickly deleted the "officially confirmed" part, but the crypto community is quick to notice details and tends not to forget.
Folks are clamoring for answers about whether or not the dog wif the hat will make its debut on the big screen (or, in this case, a spherical series of screens.)
Either way, something has to be cooking.
The $697,811 sitting in the Sphere multisig just moved to a fresh wallet after ten months of silence, suggesting that payment might be being prepped to be sent.
Mihir, one of the five masterminds behind the Sphere idea, claims they're "90% confident" it's happening.
Apparently, the Sphere folks even wrote new "crypto-specific" rules after their pitch.
That's either really good or really bad news, depending on what’s in those new rules.
And remember Zion Thomas (Ansem)?
The last time he mentioned the campaign was five months ago when he joked about them not delivering.
It’s been radio silence since then, and the other organizers have become unreachable.
WIF is currently hanging out around $1.34, up 34.7% in 24 hours.
But zoom out: it's still down 6.2% this week and 72% from March's high when they first passed the hat for donations.
That could change.
The Sphere saga has everything it needs to either succeed wildly or fail spectacularly – $700K in community cash, disappearing organizers, mysterious wallet movements, and now cryptic tweets.
Q1 2025's the new promise, but in meme coin time, that's basically forever.
Either the biggest dog in a hat ever lights up Vegas, or this becomes another expensive crypto magic trick in which money is made to disappear.
